Combat

Muscle Memory +5

Precise Blows + 5

Whirl +5

Resolve +5

Fleet Footed +5

Razor Focus +5

The main focus in Combat is getting Whirl. Whirl is a fast attack move that spins Geralt around which can do damage to enemies closing in on Geralt or a bunch of damage to a boss. Muscle Memory adds extra damage while adding Red mutagens will increase damage as well.

Alchemy

Poisoned Blades +5

Acquired Tolerance +3

Heightened Tolerance +5

There are later abilities in the alchemy tree which will help with defense, the first three are going to help more offensively (as if we didn't already have enough). Poisoned blades will add an opportunity to poison enemies while Acquired and Heightened tolerance will help out with using decoctions.

General

Cat School Techniques +1

Adding more offense!

You want to make sure you're equipping all light armor or Cat School Techniques won't be at it's best.

Recommended Decoctions

Succubus - Attack power grows over course of fight

Water Hag - Damage dealt is increased 50% when vitality is at its maximum

Ekimmara - Damage dealt to foes restores vitality (Wow, finally some defense!)

Strategy -

Before entering battle pop Quen. This will give you a fail safe if an opponent hits you. Make sure your decoctions are also active before you enter battle. It's also recommended that you have a Thunderbolt and Swallow potions ready. Thunderbolt will add attack power while swallow will restore vitality.

Make sure you're patient. Dodge the enemy's initial attack and then go to town with your Whirl. Rinse and repeat. Whirl uses stamina so if you get hit and lose Quen, let stamina regenerate and pop Quen again so you have your failsafe.
